Fuji Electric's FSV ultrasonic flowmeter is the latest generation of high-performance ultrasonic liquid flowmeters using transit time technology. It is particularly effective in applications where high accuracy is required and the flowmeter needs to be installed without stopping the process. It's the perfect option for measuring the flow of relatively clean, homogeneous liquids in closed, filled pipes.
Ultrasonic flow meter measures flow by operating on the transit time principle technology.
This clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter works by comparing the travel time of an ultrasonic signal in the direction of flow (downstream) and the counterflow sound wave (upstream).
These high-frequency ultrasound signals are generated by two clamp-on transducers through the pipe wall. The difference between these two transit times is proportional to the flow rate. The ultrasonic flow meter converts these measuring data into a flow measurement.
These sensors attach to the outside of pipes and can be used on wide pipe sizes from 13 to 6000 mm (0.5 to 235 inches) at liquid temperatures from -40 to 200°C (-40 to 390°F).
The required pipe system layout is a straight run of 10x and 5x pipe diameters upstream and downstream respectively.
The clamp on ultrasonic transducers are mounted outside the pipe, which is a superior method compared to insertion flow meters and other more traditional invasive flow measurement instruments.
This transit time ultrasonic technology offers minimal maintenance and significantly reduced the installation time.
Advanced electronic signal processing technology allows the FSV ultrasonic flow meter to offer a compact, lightweight solution for flow measurement with high accuracy better than ±1 % of flow, and with minimal influence of pressure or temperature of the measured fluid.
In addition, it offers best-in-class anti-bubble performance, allowing accurate readings even on process when air bubble content reaches 12 % of volume at a velocity of 0.3 m/s.
The transit time clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter has three signal outputs that can be selected to display flow measurements (volumic flow or mass flow) and total flow.
Various output options, such as 4-20 mA signal output, transistors pulse output and digital communication are available.
Configurable alarm thresholds can be set to detect overshoot in flow measurement, switch on a relay and allow rapid action to be taken for the safety of your process.
The FSV ultrasonic flow meter is a compact meter with a large choice of reading displays. Configuration is simple and intuitive using push buttons on the front panel.
The ultrasonic flow meter electronic converter calculates the sensor spacing and guides you for the commissioning. It can be configured to automatically calibrate the zero of the flow meter. An LCD display and an integrated keypad allow the user to configure the unit simply and easily and to view the range of parameters.
The internal menus are available in several languages (French, English, German, Spanish and Japanese).
The ultrasonic flow meter can also be configured using PC-compatible free software and a communication cable allowing multiple configurations to be stored and downloaded to flowmeter from a PC.
The free PC software allows :
The ultrasonic flow meter Time Delta-C model FSV consists of a sensor that can be installed on the conduct (DN 13 to 6000 mm depending on the sensor) and a remotely mounted digital converter.
The flow velocity can be bidirectional and vary from -32 to +32 m/s. FSV utrasonic flow meter is well suited to relatively clean fluids with low to moderate aeration.
Non-intrusive ultrasonic flow meter is highly accurate in measuring the flow in many industrial applications.
Adaptability to a wide range of fluids
Designed to measure homogeneous liquids propagating ultrasonic waves, this sensor is applicable to a variety of fluids such as service water, waste water, industrial water, seawater, pure water, irrigation water, and even more viscous liquids such as oil.
Precise Ultrasonic Measurement
Single-channel transit time difference ultrasonic measurement technology guarantees outstanding accuracy. With a measurement range from 0 to ±0.3 to ±32 m/s, this sensor covers a wide range of flow velocities.
Extended Temperature Range
One of the most remarkable features of this sensor is its ability to operate in a fluid temperature range from -40°C to an impressive upper limit of 200℃. High-temperature performance depends on the specific sensor used, offering unrivalled flexibility for a variety of applications.
