The integral orifice flowmeter is a depressurizing device used to determine the flow rate and velocity of a fluid (liquid or gas) moving through a pipe.
An orifice flowmeter is a depressurizing device used to measure fluid flow. It measures the volumetric flow and velocity of liquid or gas as it flows through a pipe. It is a common instrument in industrial process control. The integral flow orifice assembly consists of an orifice plate inside the pipe section in line with the main flow stream. A differential pressure transmitter is mounted directly on the integral orifice. The main advantage is that it eliminates the cost of installing tubing from the pressure transmitter to the orifice.
Designed for safe, easy installation, Fuji Electric's built-in orifice measures very low liquid or gas flows in small-diameter pipes.
It can be bolted directly to FCX DP transmitters or other pressure transmitter using standard 54 mm centers.
The body is machined from a single piece of 316 stainless steel (or other material) to ensure high pressure integrity.
Its unique design incorporates a "Fuji Electric Collector Ring" to hold the orifice section in place without the use of additional bolts or screws.
Six different orifice section sizes can be fitted without the need for special tools.
The orifice section can be changed without being removed from the pipe.
This significantly increases safety compared with other designs.
The unit is fixed to the pipe using standard oval flanges for ease of maintenance.
If very high accuracy is required, the unit can be fitted to calibrated measurement systems as a complete assembly.

CALIBRATED MEASUREMENT
INCREASES SAFETY
Fuji Electric will supply the integral orifice for mounting on the differential pressure transmitter, or a complete system, fully calibrated and ready for installation directly on the pipe.
Devices that can be mounted directly on the integral orifice include switches, indicators and flow transmitters.
3-way manifolds can be used with these devices to calibrate zero and allow withdrawal while the line is under pressure.
The dp transmitter can be supplied with square root extraction, analog or digital indicator, HART communication, Exi, ExN or Exd hazardous area certification and/or NACE datasheet .
For mass flow, absolute gauge pressure pressure transmitters and temperature probes can be integrated into a measurement system and supplied complete with a mass flow calculator.
An instruction manual is supplied with each shipment.
A complete set of drawings and certificates can also be supplied.
The system is supplied according to the following datasheet .
For the various materials, threads and options, please refer to the "Details required" section at the back of the page, or to the detailed technical drawing.
Compatibility with a variety of fluids
The transmitter is designed to be compatible with a wide range of liquids and gases, provided they are compatible with the materials of manufacture. This versatility makes it suitable for a multitude of industrial applications.
Extended Process Pressure Range
With a process pressure range from vacuum to 160 BarG, this transmitter offers exceptional flexibility to adapt to a variety of working environments, even under extreme pressure conditions.
Versatile operating temperature
The transmitter can operate over a wide temperature range, from -40 to +120°C for the process. The ambient temperature depends on the differential pressure transmitter used, ensuring maximum adaptability.
Robust Building Materials
Components in direct contact with the fluid are made of 316 stainless steel, offering exceptional corrosion resistance. The oval flanges are also made of 316 stainless steel, ensuring long-term durability. As an option, alloys such as 630 SS can be chosen for bolts.
Quality joints
Viton and PTFE seals guarantee reliable sealing, even under varying pressure and temperature conditions, contributing to measurement stability and accuracy.
Practical Connections
The transmitter features convenient connections for easy integration into existing systems. Process connection is via oval flanges with 1/2″ NPT threads, offering installation flexibility.
Easy installation and assembly
The transmitter offers direct mounting on 54 mm centers, facilitating installation. Transmitter bolt threads are standard M10, with the option of 7/16 UNF to suit various configurations.
