ZiDM series: ZiDM-5 QUALDUST, ZiDM-4 EMIDUST, ZiDM-3 MONIDUST

The various functions available mean that the ZiDM series can be used for a wide variety of applications: emission measurement, industrial process control or filtration system monitoring.

s300 series

This analyser can be installed on processes such as bag filters, cyclones, dryers or other dust recovery systems, to monitor particulate emissions and filter performance.

The ZiDM series is often used for process control in applications where dust levels must not exceed defined limits. The integrated relays of the ZiDM series can be used as alarm signals for dust levels.

The mA output and RS485 interface make this instrument ideal for trend monitoring applications.

The very short response time is a typical feature of Fuji Electric dust analysers . It enables early detection of malfunctions in the dust abatement process and prevents costly product loss.

Inductive Electrification Technology

inductive electrification technology

Fuji Electric dust analysers measure particles that interact with an isolated probe installed in a duct or chimney. A signal is induced when particles move close to or touch the probe. This signal is then processed by a series of advanced algorithms to filter out noise and provide accurate measurements of dust levels.

Conventional triboelectric technology is based on the DC component of the electrical signal, generated when particles come into contact with the probe and transfer a charge.

Inductive electrification technology also uses the alternating current (AC) component of the triboelectric signal, reducing the influence of sensor contamination, temperature variations and speed changes. With inductive electrification technology, a detection limit of 0.01 mg/m³ can be achieved.

Unique "Auto Setup" function

unique auto setup function

The "Auto Setup" function is a unique feature of the Fuji Electric dustanalyser . It enables simple, intuitive setup. During the Auto Setup procedure, performed under normal process conditions, theanalyser automatically adapts to process conditions and sets the measurement range and alarms according to these conditions. Under normal conditions, the instrument displays a green LED and the mA output is set to 5% of scale.

If the measurement point is upstream of the filtration system, the automatic adjustment baseline may be several g/m³. If it's downstream of the filtration system, the auto-tuning baseline may be only a few mg/m³. In both cases, no manual configuration of the range is required.

Local display and user interface

The ZiDM-4 EMIDUST and ZiDM-3 MONIDUST analysers feature a local user interface for configuration and adjustment.
The operator can view measurement values in real time on the 4-digit display, in mA, % or mg/m³.
The 4-button interface allows the operator to navigate through the menus and modify the most important parameters.
An additional button to start the automatic configuration procedure is located next to the display.

Proven technology

Since 1993, our dust measurement technology has been recognized worldwide, with over 17,000 installations in more than 50 countries.
The measurement principle has become a proven standard for the accurate detection and quantification of dust levels.
Numerous laboratory test campaigns have also demonstrated excellent linearity on different types of dust.
The graph below illustrates the mA output in the ISO 12103 standard test (Arizona Road Dust Test).

Probes and process connections

probes and process connections

The ZiDM series is available with a wide range of probes and process connections.

The new mechanical solutions reflect our field of expertise over the last twenty years.

The ZiDM series has been designed and developed to adapt to industrial processes and customer requirements.

Standard probe, with quick-release clamp

The ZiDM series is supplied with a 500 mm probe made of 316L stainless steel and Ryton insulation. This probe withstands temperatures up to 300°C and pressure up to 600 kPa. The quick-release clamp enables the instrument to be removed quickly and easily. This is particularly useful in harsh process conditions, where probes need to be cleaned regularly.

Probe lengths and coatings (optional):
A wide range of different probe options are available for customized solutions. Wet and sticky dust can lead to a build-up of conductive dust on the probe, impairing measurement accuracy and reliability.

Since inductive electrification is based on the transfer of electrostatic charge between the probe and the amplifier, the accumulation of conductive dust can lead to a bridge effect between the probe and the grounded sheath.

To avoid this, we have developed different coatings for different process conditions:

optional air purge

Air purge (optional)

Used in process conditions with a high probability of dust accumulation on the probe.

Air purging ensures that the probe base remains free of dust build-up.

high-temperature option

High temperature (optional) :

The high-temperature probe can be used in process conditions up to 700°C.

The air purge option is not available for this sensor.

Flanges for process connection can be selected according to the customer's datasheet .

Wireless radio frequency (RF) network communication (optional)

wireless radio frequency network communication

ZiDM series analysers can be networked using a Fuji Electric RF platform.

This reduces wiring costs and simplifies installation, with a fully integrated, easy-to-use RF connection.

Each analyser can cover an area of 1 km and act as a network repeater. With its directional antennas, the area can be greatly extended.

Wireless network features :

  1. 1 km between 2 devices
  2. If required, each instrument can act as a repeater
  3. Substantial savings thanks to reduced wiring costs and rapid commissioning
  4. Safe operation thanks to remote access to the device in difficult locations and conditions
  5. Smart grid function with auto-connections
  6. RS485 cabling can be combined with the RF network
  7. The radio frequency bands used do not require licenses or permits (868 MHz or 915 MHz).
  8. Multiple channels available
  9. Up to 30 analysers on a single network
  10. No need for barriers on communication lines in hazardous areas

DustTool parameter-setting software

ZiDM series analysers can be managed and parameterized with DustTool software. This provides a convenient platform for viewing measurement results, initiating automatic adjustment and settinganalyser parameters.
Plug a USB cable directly into the USB connector, or use a generic USB-RS485 converter, then simply connect to the unit's RS485 bus.

DustTool automatically detects the interface used and connects to the device.
