The gauge pressure sensor is an instrument that measures the pressure of a gas or liquid relative to atmospheric pressure. This type of sensor is commonly used to monitor and control pressure in industrial processes in the oil & gas, chemical, power generation and water treatment industries.

The gauge pressure transmitter measures the process pressure of a gas, steam or liquid in relation to atmospheric pressure. The pressure transmitter is installed on a pipe to measure pressure, or on a tank to measure level by hydrostatic pressure.

The gauge pressure sensor comprises a single pressure port to be connected to the process on which pressure is to be measured. This HP high-pressure port is connected to a metal diaphragm.
The low-pressure BP side of the sensor is subject to atmospheric pressure.
The metal diaphragm deforms proportionally and transmits the measured applied pressure via an internal fluid to the micro-capacitive measuring element.
The pressure exerted on this capacitive electronic component will deform it. This deformation changes the system's capacitance value. This value is then converted into an analog 4-20 mA and digital HART signal in accordance with the measured gauge pressure .
The gauge pressure sensor gauge pressure less expensive than anpressure transmitter .
gauge pressure sensors have wider measuring ranges than their counterparts, pressure transmitter , which measure absolute pressure. These pressure measuring devices can measure higher pressures.
Not only is the gauge pressure sensor exceptionally precise and accurate, it is also highly reliable and offers great long-term stability.
High repeatability
Long-term stability

Relative pressure transmitters have limitations in terms of accuracy compared with absolute pressure transmitters .
This limitation is due to their dependence on atmospheric pressure.
However, a gauge pressure sensor may be sufficient and an affordable solution for most industrial processes.
The standard unit of measurement for gauge pressure the pascal (Pa).
In most industrial applications, other units such as bar (equivalent to 100,000 pascals (Pa)) and pound-force per square inch (psi) (equivalent to 6,894 pascals (Pa)) are used.

The gauge pressure sensor can measure pressures ranging from a few mbar to several bars.
Maximum operating pressure and permissible overpressure vary according to cell range and transmitter model.
This measuring instrument can measure pressure relative to atmospheric pressure as high as 500 bar with excellent accuracy and stability.
The gauge pressure sensor is used in industry to measure the pressure of any liquid, gas or pressurized fluid.

Pressure measurement in chemical reactors, tanks and storage containers, pressure control in chemical transfer systems.

The high-precision pressure transmitters of the FCX series are capable of accurately determining gauge pressure and then sending a corresponding 4-20 mA electrical output signal.
The gauge pressure transmitter uses the most advanced digital signal processing and a silicon micro-capacitive sensor for unrivalled precision, stability and reliability.
