Are you looking for an ATEX-certified zirconia oxygenanalyser to monitor a process in a potentially explosive atmosphere? When selecting equipment, you must consider the installation zone, the gas composition, the measurement range, the expected performance, and the required certifications.
The Fuji Electric oxygen analysis system, consisting of the ZFKE sensor and the ZKME controller, provides continuous measurement of O₂ concentration in non-flammable gas mixtures. Its explosion-proof design meets the requirements of hazardous industrial environments and combustion control applications.

Fuji Electric's in-situ oxygenanalyser s combine two complementary components:
This configuration enables continuous measurement of the oxygen concentration in non-flammable gases, particularly those emitted by boilers and industrial furnaces. It is particularly well-suited for managing and optimizing combustion in environments at risk of explosion.
Since the measurement is taken directly within the process, no complex gas sampling or conditioning system is required. This design simplifies installation and minimizes maintenance requirements.

The system, which combines the ZKME zirconia oxygenanalyser r and the ZFKE oxygen probe, offers several advantages for oxygen monitoring in industrial environments:

The measurement principle is based on the electrochemical properties of zirconium oxide heated to high temperatures. Zirconia becomes conductive to oxygen ions when it reaches its operating temperature.
The difference in oxygen concentration between the measured gas and the reference air generates an electromotive force. The system uses this signal to calculate the concentration of O₂ in the gas mixture.
Thanks to its direct installation in the duct, theanalyser quickly detects changes in oxygen levels. It thus provides the data needed to adjust the air-fuel ratio and monitor the process.

Theanalyser offers two user-configurable ranges. The upper limit can be set between 2 and 50% vol. oxygen, in 1% vol. increments.
This flexibility makes it possible to adapt the measurement to the characteristics of the process, whether it involves monitoring combustion fumes, exhaust gases, or other non-combustible gas mixtures.
Before selecting a zirconia oxygenanalyser r for ATEX zones, it is particularly important to verify the following:

The ZFKE/ZKME system offers repeatability of ±0.5% of full scale or less and linearity of ±2% of full scale or less.
Its response time ranges from 4 to 7 seconds to reach 90% of the final value, starting from the moment the calibration gas is introduced. This responsiveness makes it possible to quickly track changes in oxygen concentration and improve combustion control.

Two types of analog outputs are available:
These signals are used to transmit measurement results to a PLC, a supervisory system, or a control device. The RS-485 Modbus and HART protocols also facilitate the integration of theanalyser into the site’s communication architecture.

Theanalyser includes several features designed to ensure safe operation. The controller automatically cuts off power to the probe when a thermocouple break is detected.
An external input can also be used to shut off the power supply in an emergency. The control lockout feature, meanwhile, reduces the risk of operator error.
These devices complement the equipment's explosion-proof design.

Depending on the configuration chosen, theanalyser can incorporate various additional features:
These options make it possible to adapt the system to the process requirements and reduce the need for manual maintenance.

The ZKME controller can be panel-mounted or pipe-mounted. The wiring distance between the controller and the sensor can be up to 100 meters, making it easy to install them in challenging industrial environments.
Theanalyser accepts the following power supplies:
The final configuration must be determined based on process conditions, installation constraints, and the regulatory classification of the area.
