Pocket HART® ATEX – Intrinsically safe portable HART® communicator for explosive environments

The Pocket HART® ATEX is a portable communicator designed for the configuration, diagnostics, and maintenance of HART®-compatible instruments installed in ATEX-certified industrial environments. It allows users to directly read data from field devices and communicate with HART® equipment, whether registered or unregistered, regardless of brand or model.

Thanks to its intrinsically safe design, this ATEX-certified version is intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, particularly in areas where the presence of gas may require the use of certified equipment. Its II 1 G Ex ia IIC T4 Ga certification allows it to be used in environments that require a high level of protection against the risk of ignition.

The Pocket HART® ATEX supports technicians during commissioning, inspection, configuration, and maintenance operations in hazardous areas. It allows technicians to work directly on HART® instruments while meeting the specific safety requirements of ATEX-classified industrial sites, such as chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, energy, and process treatment facilities.

Designed for field operations, the Pocket HART® ATEX is based on the SDC-625 platform and runs on Windows CE. Equipped with a 1 GHz processor and a 4 GB Micro SD card, it provides the necessary resources for field configuration, maintenance, and data storage, including during operations in restricted areas.

Its 4.3-inch anti-glare touchscreen ensures excellent readability in industrial settings, whether in low-light conditions or in direct sunlight. Its QWERTY keyboard, intuitive interface, and equipment-specific shortcuts make it easy to use on-site, even during mobile maintenance operations.

The Pocket HART® ATEX also features menu navigation with hyperlinks, a quick start guide, a multilingual interface, context-sensitive help, access to video content, and tabbed navigation similar to that of a computer, all designed to effectively support the user during operations in ATEX environments.
