High gauge pressure measurement for nuclear
Fields of application
Gauge pressure measurement in nuclear facilities, particularly for primary and secondary circuits, reactor protection systems, safety injection circuits, pressurized auxiliary systems, and critical equipment contributing to the safety, protection, and availability of facilities.
Benefits
The FCX-AIV series FKR nuclear gauge pressure transmitter is specially designed to provide reliable and accurate measurements in the most demanding nuclear environments, particularly for functions related to plant safety.
Designed for high-pressure nuclear applications, the FKR nuclear sensor is capable of measuring high relative pressures up to 70 MPa (700 bar or 10.15 kpsi), while withstanding the severe stresses associated with nuclear environments, such as high temperatures and prolonged operating conditions. Its design and choice of materials are tailored to the specific requirements of nuclear processes.
The pressure transmitter incorporates silicon piezoresistive technology combined with digital signal processing, ensuring accurate, stable, and long-lasting measurement. Compatible with the HART communication protocol, it facilitates integration into nuclear control and instrumentation systems, while meeting nuclear safety and long-term facility operation requirements.

It is possible to convert a gauge nuclear pressure transmitter FKR 700 bar to a gauge 500 bar pressure transmitter.
This adaptation is based on the addition of a process flange mounting adapter, which preserves the process interfaces and mechanical mounting interfaces of an FKG 500 bar sensor.
It thus enables the implementation of FKR 700 bar transmitters to replace the existing FKG 500 bar pressure transmitters, while ensuring continuity of operation and compliance with nuclear requirements.
