Measuring CO2 concentration
Fields of application
The infrared CO2 controller ZFP9 allows precise and reliable CO2 concentration measurement in controlled horticulture, including Greenhouses, Building Ventilation Systems, Controlled Atmosphere Storage Facilities, and is ideal for use in a grow room. It is specifically designed for maintaining optimal CO2 levels to maximize plant growth and yield.
Features
The ZFP9 is a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) analyser that monitors CO₂, measures the concentration of CO₂ in the air, displays the result and simultaneously emits an analog signal. It is suitable for use in grow rooms to maintain optimum CO₂ levels.
This device controls and monitors CO₂ levels in a wide range of applications, including greenhouses, grow rooms, residential environments, hydroponic systems, mushroom beds, plant production sites, as well as other settings such as research laboratories, educational establishments and commercial nurseries. Its high-precision NDIR sensor provides reliable measurements for effective environmental control, ensuring that the right level is maintained.
The ZFP9 CO2 Controller features advanced controls that enable it to automatically activate or deactivate CO₂ supply or ventilation systems according to the values measured by the sensor, including a mode for safe operation during the hours of darkness, when plants are not photosynthesizing. It monitors CO₂ and operates reliably to optimize plant growth conditions.
Thanks to its standard alarm functions (high and low thresholds), it can also be used as a control element. Regular system checks are recommended to ensure that theanalyser functions correctly and maintains the correct level.

Maintaining adequate levels of carbon dioxide is an essential factor in achieving optimum plant growth in grow rooms, grow tents and greenhouses. Plants depend on CO₂ for photosynthesis and, by carefully controlling this element, growers can significantly increase yields, improve plant health and reduce the risk of damage from CO₂ deficiency or excess. In controlled environments such as halls, tents and greenhouses, natural fluctuations in CO₂ are limited, making it essential to monitor and adjust levels to ensure plants have the ideal amount for robust development.
Non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology has become the standard for CO₂ monitoring devices due to its accuracy and reliability. NDIR sensors detect carbon dioxide concentrations in the air, enabling growers to maintain precise control of their environment. This technology is particularly valuable in halls and tents where maintaining constant CO₂ levels can be difficult, but remains fundamental to maximizing plant growth.
For growers looking to optimize their plant, choosing a CO₂ controller with advanced features - such as real-time monitoring, adjustable settings and reliable alarms - can make a real difference. The right device doesn't just maintain optimal CO₂ levels: it also protects plants from potential damage, ensuring that every crop benefits from the best possible conditions for healthy growth. Whether you're managing a large greenhouse or a small grow tent, investing in a high-quality CO₂ monitoring device is an important step towards achieving consistent, high-yield results.
