The MFC5150 communicator can read the full HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) Device Description (DD) library without translating it.

The communicator can hold over 1200 Hart enabled field devices and 2.4 GB of data! It also has a fast processor (1 GHz), a large amount of RAM (256 MB) and sufficient flash memory for 512 MB. It is able to support a 4 GB SD card, which gives it the ability to store all existing DD files.

What is hart communicator?

The HART communicator is used to configure any process instruments featuring Hart communications (Hart Protocol) like HART pressure transmitters, HART temperature indicator transmitters, HART oxygen analysers, HART electromagnetic flow meters.

The HART communicators are perfect for processes to allow the engineer or technician to configure, monitor and diagnose field devices. It also provides access to Hart devices information such as uptime diagnostics, calibration, and device status.

Thanks to its fast processor and large memory card, the console with HART protocol facilitates maintenance, troubleshooting and configuration tasks, such as :

• location of smart transmitters, 
• trend monitoring of a transmitter's process variables, such as its measurement and operating status,
• retrieve configuration information from remote devices in the 4-20 mA current loop,
• on-site calibration of your transmitter,
• the management of your instrumentation and the collection and transmission of data for analysis purposes.

How to use Hart communicator ?

The Hart communicator is easy to configure. You will need the HART communicator, your field instruments and a power supply.

1. Powering on and off:
   On: Press the power button to turn on the Hart field communicator.
   Off: Navigate to the main menu and select the 'Turn Off' or 'Shutdown' option.
   
2. Connection to a Hart field device:
   Connect the HART Communicator to the analog signal leads to the device terminals. Typically, the red lead connects to the positive terminal, and the black lead connects to the negative terminal.
   Ensure that the device is powered on and in a mode that allows communication.
3. Navigating the Menu:
   Once powered on, the main menu will display various options.
   Use the arrow keys or touchscreen (depending on the model) to navigate through the menu.
   Select the desired option by pressing the 'Enter' key or tapping on it.
4. Device configuration:
   From the main menu, select 'Device Configuration' or a similar option.
   The communicator will establish communication and search for connected HART devices and display a list.
   Select the device you want to configure, for example a Hart sensor or a pressure transmitter Hart.
   Navigate through the device-specific menus to change parameters such as set points, ranges, and other configurations.
   Always refer to the device's manual for specific parameter details.
5. Monitoring:
   You can monitor real-time data from the field device, such as process values, status, and diagnostic information.
   Our communicators allow you to view trend graphs or logs of the data.
6. Diagnostics and troubleshooting:
   The HART Communicator can run diagnostic tests on the connected device.
   If there's an issue with the field device, the communicator will display error messages or codes. Refer to the device's manual for troubleshooting based on these codes.
7. Saving and transferring configurations:
   After making changes, always save the settings.
   The Hart communicators allow you to transfer configurations between instruments or to a computer for backup.
8. Updating the Hart communicator:
   Check Fuji Electric manufacturer's website periodically to release software updates for HART Communicators.
   Connect the communicator to a laptop and follow the manufacturer's instructions to update the software.
